The Lone Wolf Stands Hand Climber "Combo" weighs only 14.7 pounds and folds flat like a book for easy transport. I bought this stand a year ago and just finished an entire hunting season using it. I do a lot of public land hunting and often find myself hitting the swamp to get back to where hunting pressure is minimal. Slipping through the bushes requires a light and sleek setup to minimize the chance of my mount getting hung up in the bushes. If you are looking to buy a climbing frame, this might be for you. Here are some facts you should know before making a decision.

This stand costs $379.99 and is one of the many options that Lone Wolf has in the climbing stand category. These stands are very popular with both common and private land hunters who want to implement a mobile hunting strategy. The price may seem steep, but in this case the old adage "you get what you pay for" couldn't be truer. For the extra money on any tool, I wish it was a platform that would hold me safely up to 30 feet in a tree!

I have used this stand in the swamps of Mississippi and in the mountains of North Carolina, but my fondest memories of this stand are sitting in a 6' lotus tree on Mississippi Lake in October when I harvested the first deer on the commons! He packed back up to 3 miles to reach the elusive deer and has hunted it more than 30 times this season. My base climbed all kinds of trees, from small hard oaks to tall, shaggy, peeling pines. I put this thing on craver and still love it!

The Lone Wolf Hand Climber Combo has a very sturdy cast aluminum foot and seat platform without adding much weight. They are extremely durable and have a non-reflective light gray matte finish to eliminate the telltale glare play. The frame that houses the wooden belts above and below is entirely made of aluminum. The flat dark brown color also adds to the concealing value of this foundation. I installed stealth camouflage tapes from Stealth Outdoors on an aluminum frame. Now there is absolutely no noise when the two pieces touch each other.

The seat platform has a swivel sleeve on each side with wooden belts. This sleeve can be flipped around 100 degrees, making the stand easy to fold. When climbing, it is important to keep in mind that the seat platform will remain in place between these sleeves so that rotating the platform does not compromise the bite angle to the tree.

The foot platform has a folding frame with sliding tension nuts on both sides. This tensioner nut should be loosened to extend the frame and tightened before climbing. A problem arose when I did not tighten this tension nut enough. They came loose as my foot pushed them while climbing the tree and the foot platform was in danger of collapsing. There is a simple solution to this problem. Before climbing, hold this nut with your bare hands and tighten it by hand until it is properly secured for climbing.

The "V" shaped bite area on both platforms is sharp enough to anchor the base to the bark of most tree species. The Lone Wolf Climber's wooden belt uses no pins or holes to adjust the length of the cable and has no exposed metal. This polymer belt has an inner steel core, a flat outer side and an inner side covered with a "U" shaped groove into which the cam is attached. Given the overall width of the base and the length of the cable, the Lone Wolf Hand Climber is ideal for small trees. Lone Wolf recommends trees 6-19 inches in diameter. Personally, I find trees in the 8-12 inch range to be ideal for this climbing frame.

Versatile Ground Blind's Gen2 Tree Seat

When you reach the desired height, simply tighten the tension straps that connect each side of the seat platform to the lower platform. This distributes the weight from your feet to the seat and keeps you firmly in the tree no matter how much you hit it. This is my favorite stupid design. It should integrate with all climbers as it eliminates unwanted noise by preventing the seat platform from dropping to the foot platform.

This base won't make you sleep comfortably, but it could be better. The design is optimized for deep storage that most people don't have access to and doesn't waste weight or space for convenience. The seat platform measures 12" X 16" and the cushion is only 1" thick. It's not the most comfortable seat on the market, but it's good for this purpose and you may need to get up occasionally to rest your muscles. The leg The platform measures 19.5 It is relatively small at "X 26". The bow base built in between the legs leaves very little room for movement after the bow is thrown, but still has plenty of room to rotate and to shoot from behind I wear size 11 shoes When standing upright on the seat platform, make sure your toes are level with the edge of the base.

This mount is backpack-friendly due to its lightweight and flat pack profile (4 inches thick). The stock backpack straps included with this mount are just basic straps that aren't comfortable to wear, so upgrading is a good idea. I replaced it with a set of leftover military Molle backpack straps and a waist belt from eBay. Now you can forget you're wearing this foundation even after a mile or two!

I highly recommend this climbing mount for anyone who values ​​mobility in their hunting arsenal. It is light, compact and a high quality product that will last for years. Keep in mind that this stand is not designed to be a lazy flying boy, but it is an effective piece of equipment to get you up high while staying off rough roads!
