Anytime Fitness Springfield Va - The British-headquartered gym is expanding to America with the opening of its first US-branded location in Tysons on January 6.
"PureGym, Europe's leading gym and fitness operator, is pleased to announce the launch of its first gym in the United States under its new brand, Pure Fitness," the company said.

The Tysons business will be located near the Greensboro Metro Station at 8311-B Leesburg Pike in Tysons Square, centered on the Burlington and Marshalls department stores.

"We believe the Tysons area has strong long-term prospects and represents an opportunity for our high-quality, flexible and affordable fitness offerings," spokeswoman Kitty Ryder said via email. "The location we chose is close to transport links and surrounded by potential Pure Fitness members - both residential and office."
The UK's largest gym operator, PureGym provides 24/7 access and allows customers to cancel their membership at any time. Introductory memberships at Tyson locations start at $9.99 a month with a $1 sign-up fee and a $39 annual maintenance fee, according to the company.
"At Pure Fitness, we want to make it as easy as possible to get to the gym, which is why we don't lock our members into long-term contracts for one year," company officials said in a press release.
"Instead, members will have the freedom to freeze, leave and rejoin whenever they want to fit their lifestyle and other commitments," the company said. "New users can also register in just two minutes on the Pure Fitness website or app."

The gym offers dozens of both in-person and virtual classes, and the Tysons location has a freestyle grass training area, more than 70 cardio machines, more than 80 pieces of strength equipment and a certified personal trainer.
The app provides a live attendance tracker with options to record progress, book classes and get contactless records.
While the COVID-19 pandemic has changed people's exercise routines over the past two years and reduced the profitability of fitness businesses, PureGym has seen a resurgence of customers, The Guardian reported in April.
This fall, the company is reportedly considering an initial public offering. The US expansion also includes locations in Springfield (6701 Frontier Drive) and near Baltimore in Elkridge, Md.
